Art Exam

As part of my course I had 2 days to complete a piece of art work under the title SANTUARY. My idea originated from the idea of how humans rely on there family and friends to make them feel safe. I then looked further and developed my idea by considering those who don't have anyone other than themselves to rely on, considering what they may turn to to try and hide from the truth such as drugs and alcohol. This is where my idea originated from. I decided to look into the lives of the homeless and street life.
My main piece was done all in black/ red biro on paper, to create a worn and used look I stained the paper with coffee and sprinkled some of the granuals onto wet areas and let it run.

As part of my prep work I decided to do etchings as this would demonstrate a skill which would support mybiro work. After realising that I made the mistake or incorrectly writing the "Change Please" the wrong way I decided to cut this out and print again, this then created a stronger atmosphere and allowed the piece to look more lost and lonely with the blank space.

I decided to experiment with a coloured beer bottles with certain angles from the light to create different reflections through the glass.

Above are my prep sheets demonstarting copies of artists work such as Picasso during his blue period and the general development of my work.
