Self Portrait

Here are some pictures from my art book. I looked into specific artists which i thought would reflect the project self portrait, these consisted of Andy Bush whom drew detailed views of the human eye. I also looked into pop artists such as Roy Richtenstein who used bright bold colours to create cartoon like images.
Onwards View- flower design didn't go to plan. Wasn't very successful.
Biro drawing of a face, dissappearing into the background.
Close up of a face using threshold as an affect-wasn't very successful on this type of material.
Side View-Material used-Modrock, biro & colouring ink
This was my first experimentation with brusho inks
This was my first attempt using a material in which you scratch into to make an image. The scale was quite small so i struggled to make detailed lines accurately in order to make a clear image.
This was a copy of the human eye from Andy Bush, I was fascinated how the immense amount of detail which Bush put in, in order to create the realism of the human eye.
I researched into artists such as Roy Litchenstein as my piece used blocked colours I aimed to try to get my piece in the style of Litchenstein but using composititons like Morris.
This was experimentation with wax resistance and brusho. As a whole I think this isn't a very strong piece as it was just an experiment but demonstrates the various materials that I used.
This was my first experimentation with acrylic paint. When looking back at this I realise that the potential is there but I still feel that it isn't my strongest point.
This is a copy i created from a section of William Morris's piece.

This was a composition that i created as an optional idea to the modrock eye.

Identity

This project was based around the theme Identity. I spent a long time thinking of ideas, and decided to look into the demand in pressure for women to look beautiful.
My piece was done one a large piece of pine wood. The material which I used was acrylic paint in order to catch the vibrant colours. My piece is all about beauty and our personal image.
I tried to use different angles to create a more model like image
Here is a flirty image demonstrating confidence
These images illustrate what women stereotypically care about and would like to look like. They show beauty, confidence and style. Here is a compostition i did in my art book demonstrating possible ideas for the project.
I decided to look into the negative impacts of beauty and found an artical that discussed the main issues
I looked into famous drawings and did a copy of Audry Hepburn
I tried to stage photographs with a more model like feel to them
After the inital project i wasnt confident using acrylic paint so was interested into doing sillhouettes to avoid having to do the intricate detail on the human face.
